Receptive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test, 4th Edition (ROWPVT-4)–Forms ONLY (25 forms)

The ROWPVT-4 is an individually administered, norm-referenced assessment that measures how well individuals—ages 2 years through 80+ years—can comprehend vocabulary by matching a spoken word (in English) to one of four full-color pictures in a multiple-choice format.

Now featuring expanded norms through geriatric ages (80+), the ROWPVT-4 is appropriate for children, teens, adults, and older adults. It can also be used with individuals who have experienced stroke, concussion, traumatic brain injury, or neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s.

Administration & Scoring

The examiner says a word, and the examinee indicates the correct picture (by pointing or saying) from a set of four. Age-based starting points and ceilings (discontinue after a set number of errors) ensure only the critical range of items is administered. The ROWPVT-4 is untimed, takes about 20 minutes to administer, and generally less than 5 minutes to score. Raw scores convert into standard scores, percentile ranks, and, if needed, age equivalents.
