Using these cards will help children recognize action verbs, increase vocabulary, and promote language development. This set presents a collection of 50 double-sided cards targeting up to 150 potential verbs. Each card specifies one main verb, but also suggests two additional target action words for a total of three verb targets per card. This provides the speech-language pathologist with a wide selection of appropriate targets to choose from along with a corresponding and relevant photo. The six follow-up extension questions will help the student gain a deeper understanding of the action word and connect the new word to his/her past experiences. This comprehensive approach promotes a wide array of connections in the brain which will, in turn, increase retention of the new vocabulary, making it more readily accessible for the student to use appropriately.
